Pulled Over for the FIRST time!!

Do you remember the first time you got pulled over? Tell us! :) Here's my story... I'm 24 years old and I have a spotless driving record. Yesterday I went to Oakland to see my mom for Christmas and we went to do some last minute shopping. Pulling out of the Walgreens parking lot, a cop followed me. I saw him in the rear view, and next thing I knew the blue lights were on. I missed a "no left turn" sign. The officer was very nice though and let me go with a warning.

The first time I got pulled over wasn't a very eventful thing ... I was going about 10mph over the speed limit and the cop wrote me a ticket ... no 1st time warning nothing! One of the more memorable times that stand out though was shortly thereafter ... I was coming home one night and my car was an old hooptie junker car ... 86 Honda Accord and the speedometer didn't work correctly. I got pulled over for speeding and the police officer asked me "Miss do you know how fast you were going?" I responded "actually officer I don't, my speedometer is broken and if you don't believe me I will gladly let you take my car for a spin around the block!" ... I got away ticket free lol I think I amused him with that lil piece of information ... he didn't even advise me to get it fixed!

your lucky not to get a fine, having a broken speedometer is illegal in a lot of countries, also required for MOT in some countries as well.

I dont remember the first time but i havent been pulled over a large amount of times, maybe 3 or 4 but never given a ticket so i guess ive been fortunate. But then again I am only 20 so I have a long time ahead of me to get pulled over and get tickets. But i have been driving for 4 years and only got one ticket and that was a parking ticket not moving violation.

The first time I was ever pulled over was one very eventful evening. I was designated driver for the evening, having gone to a rotaract function with a friend. I had only had 1 champagne & orange juice early in the evening. I was dressed to the 9's in a ball gown & when I saw the blue lights I slammed on the brakes, not noticing a taxi behind me who drove up the end of me. No major damage to either car. I was in such a panic, after putting me on the breathalyser & seeing I wasn’t drunk, I think the police man took pity on me.. this woman in all this lace ect prancing around & it started to rain. He just put me back in my car, and told me to go home… nothing recorded.. .lol (that was also the night I met my future husband, so very hard to forget.. lol )

I was a college freshman in Manila. I've been driving since I was 12 in my hometown, which was a small laid-back city with courteous drivers. It was my first day of driving in a fast-paced metropolitan city like Manila, which was notorious for crazy drivers and fierce traffic enforcers. I was about to make left, when the green light suddenly turned yellow. I couldn't stop, so I completed my left turn, and of course an ever ready and alert trafic enforcer stopped me for the "major" violation. the enforcer intimidated me into giving him a relatively big bribe, which i didn't even realize was a bribe at that time. i found out later that i shouldn't even have been stopped in the first place, and that i was conned by that enforcer into giving him the bribe.

You are Lucky. But I think a lot of times, it is depending on the mood of the officer, and the person he pulls over. Since I got Married, my husband has been pulled over a couple of times. Only once though did he really get a ticket, and when he went to court over it, it got reduced. But if was from a Sign most people do not realize is there by our Airport.

The first time I got pulled over was to let me know that I didn't have a front license plate and in Ohio, you have to have a license plate on the front and the back. He just gave me a warning though.

I got pulled over one night in Alabama, I had just moved there and seriously had not been there a week. Still had Texas tags and a Texas license. I am only 18 just got out of high school and took off out there. I don't know a soul, just decided I was going to move. Well the first cop pulls up behind me and I pull over. Within a minute I have a cop car on every side of my car. They ask all kinds of stupid questions. Like "You from Texas?" in I swear an extremely redneck drawl. I told him no and they tripped, I was joking, he asked a stupid question and I gave a stupid answer. I got searched, and then embarassed them when they were digging through my stuff when I yelled across the parking lot that the bag they were fixing to dig in had my panties in it and I would prefer they not display them all over the place. They put everything back and sent me on my way. It was so funny, the first cop that pulled me over was laughing so hard, it was one of the other ones doing the search.

I will say over the course of the next month before I got Alabama tags I was pulled over a total of 5 more times. Apparently Texas plates are suspicious and I was searched 2 of those other times. Literally if I got pulled over I would put the keys on the roof and step out telling them to go ahead. But after it was over every cop in town knew me and didn't mess with me. Even had one of them offer to escort us the three miles home from the club to make sure we made it.

The first time I was pulled over was on Interstate 80 in Pennslyvania, On Christmas Morning. My husband and I were driving to my sister's house. It was about 6:30 in the morning there where maybe three or four cars on the road. A truck moving a pre-fab house went flying by us like we were standing still. The state trooper clocked us at 72 miles an hour and the speed limit was 65. Well the house got to fly and we got a speeding ticket and was informed "that the speed limit in this here state is 65" and my husband said "with the exception for houses, there allowed to go as fast as they want apparently?". The Trooper said to my husband "are you being a wise @ss, because we don't like wise @sses in this here state" and my husband said to him No, didn't you just see the truck transporting a pre-fab house go by here doing about 90 or so, and his answer was I can't say as I did! WE just both looked at each other and shook our heads???

The first time I got pulled over I was eighteen, I'm almost twenty four and I've had about five speeding tickets and one for running a red light, you're doing great at your age, keep it up. At least he was a nice guy and let you go.

I have been pulled over alot where I used to live. It was a small town so the cops kept busy by pulling the same people over all the time. The last time I got pulled over was 3 years ago for driving with no licence.

I was 18 and had just bought my first car. I was in the Marines so I was travelling from San Francisco, CA to Pensacola, FL. I was pulled over somewhere in BFE, Arizona for doing 98 in a 70. I was actually going over 100 but the officer let me go easy. I do remember one day years later where I had to court dates in one day in two different counties in NC. Luckily one was in the morning and the other was in the afternoon so I could make both. I got off on one of them. But that was some years ago and I don't speed anymore.

The first time that I got pulled over I was 16 years old and I had just got my license. I was coming home from my girlfriends house late at night. At an intersection a cop pulled behind me and started to follow me. Even though I made some turns to get home he was still following me. Of course all this time I was sure I was driving the speed limit, stopping at every stop sign, signaling ever turn... all the while my heart was beating none stop. When I was about three blocks away from my house, the lights on the cop car went on. I pulled over, the first office approached the car and said, while shinning the flashlight in my face, can I see your liscense and regestration please. I went to the glove box to get my regestration, and when I turned around the other office was there... And he happened to be a friend of my folks. He was just laughing his a$$ off. I was soooo scared and all it was, was a joke.

I've only gotten one ticket. I was driving to my ex-girlfriends house to pick up some of my things from her front porch. I was going 48 mph in a 30.
