How long do you keep pending friend requests on hold?

I do not visit mylot on a daily basis as I was disappointed in the accumulation in points compared to what I get at gather.com I do come over to visit on a weekly basis about and always check my pending friends requests and read messages and approve or deny my new friends requests. I see I have some requests I made for a friend here on mylot two months ago and no response yet either way. Why does someone keep a pending request for two months or longer? I did delete one that had (0) since it showed me that the person signed up and never came back and then I went to a profile page to see if the member was still visiting the site and it showed they logged in one day ago. So the question I ask of members is why not just deny or approve a member when you are here and not keep it sitting there all this time? What is the reasoning behind it? Are you waiting to see some responses or posts they make? Share how you handle friend requests that you get and send out. Do you just delete them after one month or sooner if the person on the other side has done nothing about it? It doesn't seem to make sense to me. How about you?

what is gather.com? is it a good money earning site, too? anyway, as for me, i don't make pending requests wait too long. i approve them right away even without reading their profiles. i feel good when people want me to become their friend. and no. i don't delete friends. i go through answering their questions, too. i go to discussions started by my friends sometimes.

yes I agree with you too, I do always approve friends immediately without having to view their profile, I sometimes make private messages with them to know them more. Maybe you could send them private messages to touch them and be their friends. It is maybe because people who you're trying to be friends with were just here to earn money. And maybe that's why

I don't really mind how long my friend requests are pending because I don't check them. The person either accepts it or it's left there pending forever.

i have never denied a friend's request, i feel glad to receive an invitation to be someone's buddy here in mylot with the hope that there'd be a beneficial exchange between us after. but when i send a request and remained untouched (neither approved nor denied), i check when the person last logged in. if i saw him/her logged in twice without doing anything about my request, i get it as a courteous denial, so i just go delete my request to make it easy on both sides.

I wish that mylot paid more but I'd be happy if I could find time to get on here and make some kind of money!!! LOL!! I've decided this year I'm going to keep it up on my computer and stop by every few minutes and post so I can get some money!! This money is going into our Disney Fund!! and by the way what is gather.com? I checked it out but I'm lost!! Help! If I can post and make money I will try it to! Thanks!!!

Hahaha, for me it's procrastination and the fact that I haven't been able to visit mylot for the past couple of months. Usually, I'll check out the person's profile, what kind of questions they ask . . I try to get a feel for the person. I want to be able to input on thier stuff and hopefully they will be able to do the same. So sorry if you waited quite some time for a request to be approved. Some people are just like that . . like me.

I never keep my friends request pending, i accept them without thinking even once. Because i know i cant treat them as my close friends as we all are busy in replying the discussions here. Unable to talk with our friends, so no reason to deny their request. Just give them respect and go to your work

It's seems almost like another famous "my" site. Some people seem to be collecting friends for no reason. *Shrugs* I don't get what the big deal is about having 10000 people on a friend list, yet knowing nothing about them.

I do not keep any pending requests for friends. I approve them right away as soon as i see the requests. When you log on to mylot.com, if there are friends requests pending, you will see friends (1) like this. So you will know there is a pending request. Sometimes you can respond to your friend's posts, and add comments. It is all your wish. I always look for a good discussion, even though they are friends through mylot. So it is just people want to become friend. I have never added first anyone till date. They have added me, i have accepted the invitation.

I think those people that keep the long pending requests may not be on often.I myself am on every day so I can aprove my friends request quiet quickly.I dont delete mine.It doesnt make sense to me to delete them as why add them in the first place.Interesting discussion.

i visit mylot often and i handle my friends request almost immmediately!! i think the reason people dnt respond to friend requests is becoz they are unaware of the fact that they got one... most of my referrals dont even know that i have given them a firend request!! and some of them dont know where to go to accept them... so i guess most people are like that out here!! they are just unaware of the fact that they go a friends request!!

How do you know if you have a friend request? I am a new mwmber and haven't had any requests yet, but if it is difficult to know when they come though I would like to be prepared.

Hello, I did not know that you were on mylot. Small world! I am making more money on mylot than I am at gather. After you get to the 500 mark you can copy and paste and that makes it easier to add links to your discussions. I had been here for 3 weeks and made over $50. on my first payout. I try to accept or deny frieds every couple days. I have alot of frieds. When I first joined, I accepted all the friend offers but since then, I am a little more discreat and I have had to delete some that were printing discussions that were not moral in my opinion. Now when I get a freind offer, I always check out the discussions that they have posted and the discussions that they post to.

I only get to check my MyLot account when I am at work which is sometimes only once a week. I usually approve or deny them as soon as I log in after checking to see if they have started a lot of discussions that look interesting to me.

THere is this one who is a 9 that asked once & I denied it. So far I have approved everyone but them. They have never replied or started a discussion or at least none show up. I don't know how they got to 9. They also have 700 friends. I responded to this post so I can say that they requested I add them again. I will keep it pending forever so I will not have to deal with this friend collector asking again.

It seems with so many social networking sites on the net, people tend to join a bunch then stick with one or 2 and they forget or do not care that they have left something hanging.
