Vonage Phone Service

I have seen a lot of advertisements on Vonage recently. They offer unlimited calling within US and Canada. They also provide the option to keep your current tel number and just change service from current operator to Vonage. Has anybody tried this service? Is it reliable enough to use it as the only telephone line?
