Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. My cousin likes the book series and dragged me along to see the movie. I was expecting some 'Lord of the Rings' knock off, but it was actually a pretty neat. Eragon, the main character, isn't so bad. He isn't all angsty, but more like 'I'm sad, I'm angry, and I'm going to do something about my situation.' The dragon, Sefera, has witty remarks to make as well as sound advice. The battle scenes are actually intense. I give the special effects team a thumbs up. Man, nothing beats watching a dragon scorch its enemies to ashes! I'll go see 'Eldest' when it comes out, too. Supposedly the story gets better and better.
