I have actually hit the exclamation mark on a few! The people who post responses that are irrelevant to the discussion need to be reported. They are only on Mylot to increase their earnings and not to contribute intelligent discussions or responses. Don't beat yourself up for giving a negative rating. I do this too, when the people only post a couple of non-sensical words.

Good for you. More people need to use the rating system. I agree with you 100%. When I post on here I would like an intelligent response. Not saying you have to agree with me, we're all intitled to our own opinion. But please say something worth while or nothing at all.

I use a lot of !!!! but not intentionally...I'm just used to doing it all the time...since I was in high school I would write my friends letters and that's where they came from! I've already had someone on mylot think I was being a smartass using the !!!! but then I clarified that it wasn't intentional!

Good for you. If they are wasting your time to read them and it is nothing but puncuation marks they deserve to be reported. I defeats the purpose of this site. We need to all start doing that and it will stop . do you agree

i don't want to harm anyone on mylot, most newcomers do so and that too on end of month. but if it really gets on my nerves i have to take strict action

Don't apologize for your grumblings....you are opening the eyes of people here. Maybe those that are guilty will stop the practice of short replys. And also, maybe others will decide to put some negative ratings where deserved. Your post certainly added to the values of good posts here. I think you deserve a pat on the back!

hey atleast your one of the decent people that try and contribute fairly in mylot. It happens you know, especially when people post pointless and ridiculous discussions. I do however commend you on your integrity, which does show that you do have something valuable to the mylot community :)

I do appreciate the need for a negative rating. The community is growing fast, so, it may not be possible for the Admins or Moderator to keep an eye on every single post. Although, I really have not used that till date. Anyway, on couple of occassions, i tried to hit the bell by issuing mild alerts to the posters who speak only in terms of pucntuation marks, or, use extremely abbreviated form of word, like, rtng = for rating, or -ve for negative. fav. for favorite. Now do not know, whether my such replies have got negative rating and if so, does that really reduce whatever cents i get here?

I think that it's a good topic to have a discussion about because many people arent't sure how to rate yet or what types of posts warrant a negative rating. I gave my first negative rating today too but because the post was both really offensive and also did nothing to promote any discussion. Typing punctuation marks offers nothing to anyone using the site the way that it was meant to be used. I would be a little upset to start a discussion and have someone post punctuation marks.

That me that is cheating. I enjoy this website but some people really tick me off. Some people don't pay attention to the details of the discussion. They respond with ...well you should do this or that and it clearly says in the topic that you already what they suggest....

I have given a few negative ratings to some people that are either posting 3 word comments or post something completely unrelated to the topic. I've alos noticed some topics that have a nice headline followed by a single question...I think that is unacceptable. Now if someone if responding to a question, I would not expect every person to write a paragraph. A simple, "Thank You," or some other response in regards to posting a well-thought response to the topic is just common courtsey. I notice that a lot of younger people are doing this--and the thought that is motivating them is money, money, MONEY! What these people need to realize is that myLot is not going to make you rich and it is not going to pay your bills. Don't ever apologize for grumbling. This is exactly the place to rant :-)

I know what you mean. I have seen many posts like that in my discussions and I really hate it. But I don't give bad remarks either.

There are several bad habits at Mylot, which consist of one word answers, abusive responses and simply copying and pasting someone else's response. Sadly, I have encountered them all far too often. I can understand your natural desire to simply reply to the responses that require one and rating the good responses accordingly. The problem is that people who are trying to cheat the system are harming Mylot and being unfair to other members, so I often give a negative rating or report blatant cheating. Fortunately, mylot are doing a good job of removing bad posts and cheaters so the site is rapidly improving. Hopefully we can reach a point where we remember these incidents but no longer encounter them.

Good for you! I have also been trying to rate posts more often. It is the only way that we are going to be able to help MyLot and ourselves. If people can't take the time to post something worth reading, then they shouldn't be here trying to make a few cents here and there. Feel free to use the rating system as you feel necessary for the good of MyLot. I'm sure the owner's would appreciate it!

I hit the exclamation mark today on two people, i just think its wrong that there doing what there doing. I mean c'mon, one work responses? Copied paragraphs from previous discussions, its ridiculous.

i think there should be hamony among people while giving ratings every body is here for earning and everyone should support other by giving top rating no one is going to loose ithink so

You did right its not fair some one is answering in punctuation marks while the rest of us are giving our taughts and discussions in our responses.You had to give a negetive it will make MyLot aware of what this person is doing.
