The people who post a discussion

It amazes me how many people post a discussion, reply to it once or a few times and then don't aknowledge or respond to the people posting in their "discussion"! My Idea of a discussion is people commmunicating with each other....not throwing a topic into the pool and hoping others will pick it up! "Communication" the essense of discussions!! Any thoughts?

Howdy Eagle! Well, when you see that we have people with posting scores of a thousand or more who have not been members very long, it is no wonder they don't communicate or respond to their own posts. They do not have the time. Judging by scores and length of time as members, we have some people here spending 4 and more hours per day just trying to post as many times as possible. I figure these people will leave shortly when they figure out that they still are not going to make any money to speak of, no matter how fast they can type. MyLot is a fun place for interesting discussion, not a place to make money. As someone else pointed out, posting at MyLot won't even cover the cost of your internet connection. Make money at MyLot? I don't think so. These comments are for those folks posting and not discussing, so as to help them along in their thought process. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, Eagle.

I couldn't agree with you more Morelo -- especially since I wrote the EXACT same thing one post above this one. Please don't copy and paste my words.

I am still fairly new to this exact site but what I have been doing is responding to most people if I have anything other to say than thank you. At least that way someone looking over my discussion can see that i am still there and interested. Of course in the post of mine that you responded in (abuse, etc), someone accused me of posting comments just to increase my count. Crazy. If I see someone that looks interesting in one of my posts, usually I'll check out their profile for other discussions since they'll probably be valid and interesting (hence how I got here :) ) Do you think that's polite enough to people or that you really do need to respond to everyone? I do rate every post which makes it easy to find the ones I havent read yet.

You may be new to this site, however your veiws indicate you have travelled the forum road before! haha. Your attitude is great and more should pratice it! There have been comments made that as the "friends" list increases it becomes harder to reply to all the responses. I believe that if someone responds then I comment in ratio to their imput or lack of it! I am not in it for the posting total, lol, or I wouldn't have replied to 75% of the responses i have had... but that is my choice, and everyone else has their choice where this is concerned.

That is my point, one can say thank you in more than just one way! I have noticed you answer nost of the responses you get and that is what this discussion is for! Have a great new year caramello!

I find it hard to keep up, especially once a discussion gets a few pages long. I've had replies that I've wanted to respond to and not been able to find the comment because the emails don't have a direct link to it - after searching through a few pages I end up giving up.

A valid point and you probably answer as many as you can which is fine! But when someone starts a discussion and leaves it up to others to answer the responses, I lose interest in their discussion!

Yes,I feel a bit sad that I respond to many of the discussions but when I start a discussions I receive a very less amount of respond which makes me angry.

I can understand that as one feels like one doesn't matter as much...but we do!
