How Do I Bring Myself To Say Goodbye?

Today my husband and a went to visit with a pretty important lady that had been put in our life, we had not seen her in a couple of years because she and my hubby had a disagreement,Her son called 2 days before Christmas,I was so surprised,He said that the family misses us and it would be good to see us and that it would really do his mother good,so i finally talked my hubby into going over for Christmas,we we arrived,she looked at both of us and said "Good Lord almighty,she was so so happt,then after she had fell asleep,her son said that the dotor's gave her less that 6 months to live and that he did not think she would make it to the end of January.I was so glad to see everyone there,but now my heart is filled with sadness.and I am thinking of all the time that we missed,How do I deal with these emotions?
