Why Manhole is called only Manhole...why it is named so

its because only men clean them and hence the name manhole....

It is called so mainly because it is used by humans to access sewers or other things on the ground. Just like other animals who do their business underground like moles and other rodents. So it is a manhole because it is for humans. As to why there isn't a womanhole? I think it would be bizzarre as you might be referring to another hole.

It is round because it makes it easier for people to get in and out of the space; it is called a man hole because it is a "hole" that a "man" climbs in and out of. Any library that couldn't give you that definition doesn't deserve to hang a library sign outside its door.

A manhole is called by that name for it was meant to an opening for man(women never used to do the sewer cleaning jobs at that time) to clean the sewers.Since only men used to go down the name man hole stuck.
