How many women out there mow the yard, and take care of the house upkeep like...

Just was wondering how many other women out there take care of the yard work, keep up the house maintenance, like painting, clean gutters, fix toilets, change oil in vehicles, plus do all the cooking, childcare, & cleaning inside too? I used to do all of this for the first 10 years of our marriage, cause I felt guilty for being a "stay at home" mom. But it was getting to the point where my husband was hitting the couch after work and staying there all evening, while I had to continue my chores up till 9-10pm. Now I'm getting him more involved in doing chores. I'm tired. Should women just stay in the house and do the traditional role? What works at your house? Men please respond with your ideas too!

Try to appoint a maid to help u in the house. It is painful to do everthing by yourself.

My mom use to have a maid, but she would clean things up before the maid got there every week cause the maid was her friend and she didn't want her friend to see her house dirty. Sort of defeats the purpose - I'd probably do the same thing, plus I don't want to let go of the money. Thanks for posting.

I was once asked if I worked outside the home, I replied with..Yes when I cut the grass and shovel the snow and take out the garbadge. I grew up in a household with just girls, we always had to do whatever needed to be done.
