OK I know this discussion has been around for a while, but it totally brought back a repressed memory. I was in the fourth grade. I can even remember the teachers name... Mr. Rath. Heh. Anyway, I cheated on a spelling test. We had one of those desks where the lids lift and I had the book open so I could see them if I peeked inside. OK so that was kinda dumb, especially since I'm a good speller and probably would have aced it had I not cheated. But the kicker is the girl who sat next to me, told on me. However I only cheated that way because I saw her doing it the test before. So I learned my lesson. Well the next spelling test comes around, and I'm watching this boy practice his spelling words on the desk. You know you write it in pencil and then with a little spit you can make it go away. So I thought, hey what a good way to not waste paper and practice. Of course Mr. Rath comes by and sees me writing the spelling words on my desk and he wouldn't let me take the test. He figured I was cheating again. So to make a long story short. I don't cheat anymore. And boy I can't believe that still upsets me after ALL these years. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Cheating is not really for you. That's what I observed everytime you try or just think to cheat you get caught. Quite a bad luck also. Of all the people, you are the one caught. It can be the kicker girl or the boy, but it was you.

Good for you friend. Cheating is like making a lie. Believing in your own talent will boost your confidence more.

I used to cheat before. but I stopped because I realized It won't do me any good. Yes I'll pass an exam. But did I learn anything? I don't think so. Plus if I'll just cheat my way out of school, I could get use to cheating and there will be no stopping me from cheating when I'm working etc.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this discussion. It's good to hear that you changed your mind on cheating. I have to agree on what you've said, the last part, that if you get used to cheat then you'll grow up being a cheater and eventually you can't stop doing it cause it runs on your veins.

I think it really happens in the life of being a student. Frankly speaking we have done cheating, I mean we have this teacher way back in college who are very bookish, she always wants answers from the book and if you make your own answers even if the thoughts were there , she usually doesnt credit it. So what we done is cheat , all of us classmates do that because if we won't do such thing we will surely fail. Too good that such teacher is just staying in her table during examinations, she has no habits of looking around, we are all busy answering our papers with our own cheating devices when all of a sudden our teacher rose up in her table for the first time and started making rounds, because of such incident which we havent expected , we all crumpled , the papers that has cheats on it, all of us do that instantly that it produces a sounds of hisss........hissss...., we all look up at each other because of it but were very glad that our teacher doesnt even recognized it, another classmate even kick off some bottles in laboratory were we held our examinations. It was really unforgettable experienced and were glad were not caught by our teacher or else we would have not graduated .

Whoa! That was a close call. You and your classmates' hearts are surely pumping hard on that time. Well, with that kind of teacher I guess anyone will really be tempted to cheat. Same thoughts on the answer, not credited. What was that? I feel sorry because you all have to cheat eventhough you can really answer the questions.

I cheat only during physical exams like the time we were asked to do 100 laps at the pool. I just slide myself by the gutter due to exhaustion. But I never cheat when it comes to academic exams. I have too much pride in myself. Weather I pass or fail at least I did it what the knowledge I remembered. Some of my classmates are proud to have high grades even they know they cheated. I don't find fulfillment in that. It's dishonorable and besides you're just fooling and cheating yourself.

I totally agree with you Merkava. Your classmates should be ashamed of themselves feeling proud of getting high grades yet they cheated. What a shame! Don't loose that pride. I know that someday that pride will take you somewhere and besides eventhough you got low grades at your exams at least you know that somehow you learn something. Remember, the only way to succeed it to double your failure. I rated you +. I really like how you explained your side on this discussion.
