For science discussions I prefer to cut and paste from reputed websites and prtals, vortals. Here si waht 'answers' has to sat" QUOTE: "Big bang theory The theory that the universe began in a state of extremely high density and has been expanding since some particular instant that marked the origin of the universe. The big bang is the generally accepted cosmological theory; the incorporation of developments in elementary particle theory has led to the inflationary universe version. The predictions of the inflationary universe and older big bang theories are the same after the first (10)^35." UNQUOTE Link: http://www.answers.com/big%20bang QUOTE "Inflationary universe cosmology A theory of the evolution of the early universe, motivated by considerations from elementary particle physics as well as certain paradoxes of standard big bang cosmology, which asserts that at some early time the observable universe underwent a period of exponential, or otherwise superluminal, expansion. During this inflationary epoch the scale of the universe increased by at least 28 orders of magnitude." UNQUOTE Link: http://www.answers.com/topic/inflationary-universe-cosmology I suggest that you check up the above links for more details and folow up the links on those pages.
