3.0 duratec engine

my 2001 ford escape 3.0 duratec engine would not stay running this morning, if i held down gas to about700 rpm till it warmed up it ran just fine

My wife who works for the Sales Department of our local Ford Dealer here says that maybe your Ford Escape may need a tune-up. The idling may be low that is why you need to step on the gas when its cold till the engine warms up.
