It is a very lean meat and often you need to add so it isnt to dry and dont overcook it

I have a whole freezer full of the stuff. LOL. If it is steaks i fry them with lots of butter and onions, it cuts down on the gamey taste if there is any. I also cook roasts in the crockpot with potatos and carrots with golden mushroom soup and onion soup mix.

Venison is very lean, so it can be a bit dry. It works well in stews since you can add veggies and potatoes to give it additional flavor. You can also make sausage (like salami) that is quite good by mixing ground venison, ground pork, and seasonings.

I love it many ways and it depends on the cut The back strap should be butterflied and cooked just till hot and eaten with eggs and homefries the ribs can be cooked down in a crockpot remove bones and flavor with your best bbq sauce and serve I think the roast should be slow cooked til tender then carved into nice slices with gravy made from the juices I dont like it overcooked in anycase and remember deer is very lean
