This animated movie may not be new but it's a classic that has touched so many hearts. It's about a young boy and her little sister trying to survive through WWII without their mother. It doesn't have a happy ending really. If I say why, then I'll spoil it for those who may want to watch it. It has some disturbing images and it may move some people to tears. I highly recommend this movie to those who enjoy tear-jerking drama and for sympathetic hearts.

I agree totally. This anime made someone who rarely cry (me) shed some tears. This is a beautifully crafted masterpiece. This is really a touching story. There are violent scenes every now and then but the story makes up for it. This is absolutely a thumbs up!
