Ok, here's my topic, and its total fantasy. Let's say there's an international program where you could VOLUNTEER (nobody makes you) for ONE YEAR of your life to help other people, do good deeds, and use all of your TALENTS and natural GIFTS -- let's say this program has NO CONSEQUENCES to your family or finances, there's no harship imposed on anyone (this is fantasy, remember?)===and IF this program participation relieved you of all the bad things you've EVER done but never got CAUGHT for---would you do it? I mean if this participation made all of your wrongs right---would you participate? I would.

I'd definitely do it! Even without the promise of it resolving anything bad may have done. The chance to voluteer time and help without worrying about time and money? it's like a dream come true! I used to do a lot of volunteer work with wildlife and abused animal rehab, but I can't take time off to do it anymore and I really regret that.

Yes, its a good way of thinking. This way we create the best world around us, and its like a vast field of wildflowers.

I would volunteer for sure too! I've volunteered "just because" before and it makes you feel really good and you learn a lot of things about other people and even about yourself. I volunteered in an adult group home where the people were either physically or mentally handicapped (sometimes both) and I learned a lot about myself and others in the world.

i would certainly.life would have been really easy then.but in real life there is a complication in everything.we always talk about doing things for others but we need assurances that it will not effect our life in a negative way.the most positive thing we can do for others is to pray for them from your heart, but do we really do that?there is no negative effect in praying .

Praying for others is a wonderful thing to do, you are correct.

Everyone should have the chance to do this! The world would certainly be a better place and everyone could let go of their guilty baggage that holds them back.

Can we each do this now? I think so, even if in small ways, we can, I do.

I would participate even though I have no bad things I've done that I feel need to go away. I think the reason most of us don't volunteer much now is because it means time off work, or it will cost us money. So if what you are saying is a year where I don't have to worry about my job, or my money, I would do it :) My main talent is creativity so I'd love to help build and decorate houses :)

oh, yes, i'd be very much willing to participate. i believe that for us to maximize our god-given talents and abilities, we must share them with others to make the world a better place.

I absolutely would volunteer to help other people and do good deeds. I am already helping people who are less fortunate and would love to volunteer and do more to help people as much as I can and do good deeds. It is a great feeling to help people and see them smile and do well in life.

Yes! I would love to spend a year volunteering in another country. It would be incredibly educational and I would get to help other people. That would be really inspiring.

I would definately do this. I would be off somewhere, where I would help kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Wouldn't it be great if this could come true. Its good to read your responses to know people would give up a year of their lives.

before I say anything about my willingness about participation, I must say that thats a really interesting topic..and as far as participatin goes I would be lying if I just say yes based on morals or ethics..I would rather think about the situation with all my friends..discuss the effects..think about my family, parents, girlfriend and lots of other people in my life..I know it would be my decision but I think I would get influenced by others also..

This is actually a very interesting concept. I appreciate the fact that you posed this question to us. I would definately participate in a program like this. I think it would be a great project and I am almost sad that it is only a fantasy based situation....
