Any of you crochet in pure wool so that you can full it heaily afterwards by running it through a hot wash to get a felted surface texture? I do some hats and bags this way and its a very easy way to achieve three dimensional felted objects. Its worth trying if you havent done so yet, just use pure wool or it doesnt work properly.

I want to try felting this year. I have patterns for felted bags, and I think I will try one of them this month.

Bags are great to do, usually fairly quick to construct and the end results are always really interesting, and useful of course!

I have felted a couple things. I think a bag that I made, maybe a hat. I was re-using yarn that someone had started a sweater but never finished. So the felted look, really made the appearance a lot nicer.

It can work very well on items that were almost right but not quite, after shrinking them they can be stretched and blocked into a better shape and the texture is often wonderful
