This delicious pastry is sort of a cross between a cookie and a muffin. This recipe makes 10-12 scones. Ingredients: 2 cups all purpose flour 2/3 cup granulated sugar 4 oz. butter of margarine 1/4 cup shortening 1 whole egg 1/2 cup raisins FOR STEP FOUR 1 lightly beaten egg 1tbsp sugar Directions 1. Mix all ingredients together by hand. If they aren't blending well, add a splash of milk. 2. Pat out dough to 1/2 inch thickness; cut into circles with cookie cutter or a jar lid. 3. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees on an ungreased cookie sheet. 4. Flip scones over brush tope with beaten eggs and sprinkle with sugar; bake another 8-10 minutes or until golden brown 5. Allow the sconed to cool completely; serve plain or topped with a dollop of butter.

Yummy, this would be a great treat to serve to the kids while they are watching The Chronicles of Narnia. That should be fun to make with them before the movey then they can eat them during the movie. I love to make theme nights for sharing movies with our family. Thanks for the idea and the recipe

I have been looking for ages for this recipe. I´ll make them this evening. Thanks a lot. Why do you say they are from the chronicles of Narnia? Is the actual recipe written in the book?
