Is it helpful or just for rank competition? Is there another way to gather all your projects into an interactive directory?
That's what Squidoo is, right? A main directory, like at the mall? Where's the best place to learn about linking? It can obviously get folks into trouble. I'm so new at computers, it's embarrassing, when I have all this stuff I want to write.
And you get to "talk" to all kinds of people. That's cool.

Yes, but I'm not quite sure how it works. I know lense rank has to do with it. That's why I started this thread. I'd like to put mylot on one as a link.
There is another site that seems similar called Hubpages. Not real sure if they do the same thing as Squidoo. I think you need to have a product to sell for these to work.
I'm still working out the best way to organize all my writing; unfortunately I work a regular job too. So, "hobbies" get put to the side.
One day I hope to trade one for the other but, until then gathering info and experimenting with different sites has to do, for now.

I don't understand Squidoo even though I posted there. Can you explain how it works and how you make money. I am just as confused as you are.

Seth explains the name. I just thought Squidoo would be a cool place similar to a homepage to use to connect all my projects.
The problem is I have more than just lenses going so I need a place to operate from. If I must keep it updated as often as I've read; then, I have to make my living from the same chair. Does that make sense? Like I say, it takes electric and the wall it comes from to run my computer. I have to keep the day job.
As of now, my base is like my homepage. But, I need a place; and there are things besides the Website that sound more exciting to get what I want.
I'm just checking all my options; and scams are abound so you have to C.Y.A.P.D.G..

I gather so far that it is like, having your own yellow page where the whole page is yours and you point to all your own hangouts.
I suppose if that includes products you endorse, you can probably make a percentage. Sell your own stuff by pointing to your store. I think, is that about right? I'm still deciding.

i'm new here at mylot and glad, but not surprised, to see a discussion about squidoo.com. i've been on squidoo for six months or so. one thing that gets overlooked or is not well understood is that the lenses are made to be search engine freindly. many people have seen their lenses start showing up on the first results page not long after they were created. as with anything else on the internet, your lens success is content dependent. compelling content keeps people coming back and finding out about your other sites.
