When I was a college freshman, I can fully picture myself as awkward, immature, playful, naive, afraid...these are some general characteristics of freshmen...I felt so alone and I was looking for friends and the need 'to belong' was so great...so when I was invited to join a fraternity, I jumped in at once...but of course, it was more out of an unfulfilled need to be loved and to love...I also joined the Volleyball varsity team upon the prodding of the coach, who saw my potential during the college Intramurals...For me then, college life was a 'jungle' to be tamed as there were some uncertainties...but happily, I survived the jungle, but not with much funfare...my need to belong finally was satiated when I became a full member of the university's varsity team, and the rest is history...I had no regrets whatsoever of that episode of my life...I became a better person because I learned lots of lessons in life from the experience.....
