the best way to control diabeties is keeping the blood sugar level under control. for this a well controlled diet is required. Juice of bittergaurd is very helpful. apart from this protinex for diabetic patients is available, similarly horliks is available. These help in maintaining health as well as keeping sugar in control.

Watching your diet and maintaining a healthy weight are 2 very important factors. There are so many problems that diabetes causes to ignore it. It causes heart disease, poor circulation, erectile dysfunction, blindness just to name a few. Do some research and learn to cook healthy dishes that are tasty. It can be done because I do it for my husband. Splenda is a great sugar substitute for tea and pies. Meet with a dietician and learn how to eat. It can save your life.

The other person who responded implied that all diabetics must take injections but that isn't true. Type I diabetics need insulin but diet and exercise are important, too. Type II diabetics can often control their blood sugar with diet and exercise alone. If they need medication they usually start off with oral medications. Insulin isn't something that all Type IIs are just put on. Here's a site that has information on both types of diabetes.
