hi! i just want you guys to share to me what's fun and what's not working at graveyard shifts. i have been working in a call center for two years now. i resigned being a supervisor from my previous job since working in a call center here in asia is for me better because of the high salary they offer. but, the thing is i always work at night. is it safe to work at night for my health? i am 25. what do you think?

i think it just needs some adjustments on your part --- think day as night, and night as day? rest when you ought to rest, you know, and don't pressure yourself, as if there's no tomorrow. if it's your day-off, maximize it. sounds easy? i know...it's not a walk in the park, but good luck, anyway.

Well i think working in graveyard shifts is not a problem 1ce ur use to the atmosphere of night time work...offcourse there r always risks involved there it is kinda important to be in a good company before you devote urself to this place....n i'll also suggest to have frens around during travel cause no matter how high ranked the company mit be the traveling part no 1 can assure that something mit go wrong...i had to quit call center because i developed problems in my back n leme tell you it is really a problem 1ce something serious like back problem happens....offcourse i was a little at fault myself cause i worked like mad...i gained incentives n good money but due to that back problem now i have to b very carefull at every new endeavour. if u've allready worked at supervisory lvl then i'd say that u have seen the pressure of that post n in call centers its a litle simpler as far as i observed it.i'd suggest some meditation or yoga daily to maintainur health n composure whilst workin in graveyard shifts those two things will keep ur energy up n keep u fit.n yea its fun as long as u consider it fun it becomes dreadful when you think that u made a wrong decision...its all in the mindset. i hope this helps.

ive been a call center agent myself for 3years now and it does really help a lot if you do some exercise. just a little jogging around during your rest days and stretching. most of us (call center agents) are really prone to osteoporosis, you know just sitting and your sweat cant get out of your system because of the airconditioning in the office. sweating if one way of getting rid of the body waste.

In Bangalore 2 gruesome murders of women working in call centres took place during wee hours and therefore they have tightened the security for the cabs which are taking these women folks to their homes. Also many problems have cropped up due to love affairs between the call centre girls and guys working there which also ended in murders. It is quite scary to travel in night.

sleeping wise is something that you worry about, well according to doctors. its not what time you sleep specially if its your body clock talking already but its the quality of sleep you get. 2 hours quality sleep is better than 8 hours sleep at night but restless. if you find yourself waking up always feeling tired may it be you slept all night or slept all day you should see a doctor cause there is something wrong with you... ask you physician for vitamins or supplements...

To your question; Is it safe t work at night? Definitely not. We are supposed to be asleep during this time. Although it depends on body's reaction how it affected the routine. Sometimes it normalizes too. And yes, crime related happens on the night usually.

I think since you are young there is nothing wrong with working at night and I am sure at some point your employer will move you to the day schedule. I used to do the same thing at the bank many years ago and was moved to a day shift. The only bad thing about working at night is having to worry about any criminal activity that may occur. It certainly is not safe for people to work late hours.

Your still young and will be able to sleep when you get home. it's not bad to work at night. This way your call volume is a little bit lower then it would be durring the day. I'm going to be 25 my self and i would love to work over nights at my job. I'll have a lot less people that i would have to deal with. I wish you luck.

It can be safe if you can take some precautions. Sleep at least eight hours a day, and do not let anyone disturb you during these hours. And follow a healthy diet. But I think working at night for a longer period may not be good for you.

Me as of the moment, I'm having chest pains. the doctor are still looking at it since it is intermittent. It happened most of the time when I am in the night shift, i would chill and after that i would have chest pains, tho' I can still breathe.

For health reasons, I think it is still safe as long you get an 8 hours of sleep during daytime. We really have to take care of ourselves. In my company, we have this health benefit "Medicard".. I really take advantage of this. I even plan to have my general medical check up this month.
