How to connect to the internet?

Hello, I just install Ubuntu 6.06 on my computer. I was very happy doing that. The first thing that I did after that is of course trying to surf a little. But... I can't connect to the internet. How can I connect to the internet? Thanks,

It depends on what type of connection you have.. if it supports DHCP.. then activate the DCHP and then you will not have problems.. otherwise.. try to set IP's manually.
