The transition from Anakin to Luke Skywalker made all the difference in the Star Wars generation.

Personally, for me it's a toss-up between Luke Skywalker and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. When I first saw Luke in 1977, I identified with him, particularly because he embodied goodness and selflessness without being the "perfect" hero. As the Trilogy evolved, I saw him struggle with his inner demons (or dark side, if you will) as he went from being a Tatooine moisture farmer in Episode IV to Jedi Knight in Episode VI, while his mission in life switched from becoming his father's avenger to being his redeemer.
Anakin Skywalker is the reverse side of the coin, a "devolution" of a selfless and caring young boy whose emotional attachments, while well-intentioned and natural, turn into a gateway for Palpatine's manipulations and cause Anakin to choose the "quick and easy" path of the Dark Side of the Force.

Out of all the Star Wars Movies? I would have to say Sam Jackson's character in the new trilogy, and Yoda, are my two favorites in the series. Of course I liked Han and Luke as well, and you can keep the Ewoks and Jar-Jar...lol

That's a real toss-up for me between Luke and Han. I like them both. I always wanted to be like Luke when I was a teenager, because he embodied values I liked, and -- let's face it -- because he had nifty Force powers. *g*
I loved Han, though, too. He was an outlaw but a fundamentally good guy, down deep. He played by his own rules and managed to get away with it -- or have his friends rescue him when he didn't. :)
