Does your dachshund argue with you?

A few years back my family had a wonderful standard dachsie from Germany named Nero. He was something else and was more human than dog. Towards the end of his long 17 year life, he came to live with me and my young family. And there were many times that he and I had a battle of wills and we would argue. I would tell him not to do something and he would argue right back with his usual grunts and growls...and of course the dachsie evil eye. And this would go back and forth for a little while until I couldn't contain my laughter any longer! He truly was a unique sort of weiner dog and I'll never forget those choice moments like his arguing.

One of the things I love so much about doxies is their quirky personality. They really do some funny things.

They are just the funniest dogs! Always have to have the last "word".

Sounds alot like another dachshund we had. His name was Rusty and he would always lift up his right paw and tilt his head to the side when he wanted something. They really do know how to get our attention!

Having been a dox owner since 1984, I have to say a dox that don't argue has been invaded by aliens! Mine have all argued, mumbled under their breath, and certainly have always gotten in the last word, even if they had to go outside to do it. Currently my little female has begun to beg like a Jack Russell terrier, only my grand-dog - who is a Russell- has the long legs to pull it off, Amelia with her 1 1/2 inch long legs simply looks like she is have some sort of weird fit and is trying her best to fly. Her little legs flap around and watching her do that, tests ones sense of humor because you can't NOT laugh at her, then you get the evil eye because she is sure it is going to get her that extra treat, while you are trying to explain she just looks silly. They are the most wonderful dogs to have. I can't imagine my home being without one, so we have 2 - both mini's 1 long hair, 1 short hair and 2 rescue pugs, whom we all adore. Sure is a pack and a half to sleep with though :)

My dachshund loves sitting up straight on her butt and they moves her front paws frantically to get your attention. I can't help but give her everything she wants because its so cute. She sleeps in the bed like a human, on her back with her head on the pillow and half under the covers.
