try to be positive and only mention the good things that made u'r country famous. mine is famous for Dracula, footbalist Gica Hagi, gymnast Nadia Comaneci (first perfect 10 at the world oplympics) and i'm sure for alot of other things, but i think these best describe my country.

This question really brings out the patroitism in every person. The place where I came from is famous for mangoes, coconuts, but would be a vague clue, let me add some personalities, Carlos P. Romulo, President of UN GEneral Assembly; Cory Aquino, the nation's first woman president and leading figure of the bloodless Edsa Revolution; Efren Bata. Jr., world pool champion; Leah Salonga, as Kim in Miss Saigon and the Disney's voice behind Jasmine in Aladdin and Mulan in Mulan.

thank you for sharing this. i admit i don't know the ones u mentioned, but hearing about the voice behind an aladin character changed all that since i still love cartoons.

i appreciate u leaving an input to my disscusion, although it's something totally unrelated to the subject. yes i do check my disscusions (unfortunatelly i wasn't doing it for the past 5 weeks (or maybe even longer) because of some pretty big personal problems). although i really didn't understand much from u'r comment i'm guessing u'r upset coz people "steal u'r ideeas" or something like that. please do not insult me by saying i got the same phrases copy/pasted from others because it's something that does not represent me. yes i read similar disscusions and i wasn't satisfied with the answers, or maybe i wanted a different point of view and hoped to get it through my own disscusions. as for stealing someone else's phrases trust me in real life i gain my bread (so to say) from copyrights, so i am not crazy about copy/pasting things. yes i do get some ideeas from the disscusions i read and i hope to put my own touch on things. if i failed to do this then i do appologize. as for the same title and subject, i've seen some of my owns started by others weeks after i did it and it did not upset me at all, because i'm guessing that the one who started it wanted to obtain something completly different. best of luck to u 2

Although you have not mentioned your country in your discussion the name of Nadia is enough to know that it is Romania. We don't have any gold medals at the olympics (they should have copper, aluminium, plastic and cardboard medals, then we will make it.) Our country is Sri Lanka. The first Miss World, Rosie Senanayke was from our country. As far as other things are concerned our tea is famous world over, in fact it is supposed to be number 1.

thank you for sharing this. i didn't mention my country's name because i thought this was the purpose of this topic. for people to recognize the country due to what made it famous. and i need to say that i'm pretty proud that i managed to do that coz u recognized nadia. i don't know u'r miss rosie, but since u mentioned that u are from sri lanka, what i know is that they keep one of buddha's teeth there. i hope i'm not mistaking, but when i think of u'r country that comes to my mind.

Ah, Romania, a country I would love to visit some day! I live in England (Salut din Anglia!) and we are famous for the Queen and the Royal Family, for London, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and all the tourist sights. I think we are also known for William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, The Beatles, David Beckham and Doctor Who :-)
