The Dr Who Christmas Special

I just finished downloading and watching the Christmas Special, The Runaway Bride. It was awesome! The fact that it was longer than the usual episode was a nice bonus. I have missed the Dr. so very much. I can't wait until he comes back every week instead of just as a special. I look forward to getting to know his new plus one.

The TARDIS rocked in this episode! The highway chase scene was particularly awesome.
All in all, this was a great episode. I think they are finally figuring out how to write for David Tennent. I think he's a lot better without Rose. Their chemistry just never worked the same as the chemistry between Rose and Eccleston's Doctor.

I don't know about that. I think at the end they were starting to have a spark between them.
I am just happy that Rose got to go off with her family and be a regular girl for a while.
I just am so anxious for the new show to start. I am in withdrawal. Torchwood filled it for a bit, but now that's over too.

Maybe I'm just biased because I really, really, really liked Christopher Eccleston...
It's not that Rose and Tennent didn't have chemistry, it just seemed like something was missing from it. At least to me.
That said, I still bawled when she got trapped in the other dimension and they were just left standing on either side of the wall. I cried for a good hour after that.

I disagree, actually. I think Tennant and Piper had something really special going. I'm pretty mad that Piper decided to leave.

That was a great episode. I try not to miss any of them but sometimes life happens. I never watched the original shows but these I have really gotten into. I might have to see if I can find some of the old ones on line to download. Might be interesting to see them.

I don't think it aired here in the States yet. UK is several months ahead of us on the episodes and I understand it aired there on Christmas day.

You are correct Dragonstar. It didn't air here in America yet. The Sci-Fi Channel is a year behind. However, I downloaded it from the internet and watched it on my computer. By the way, that is also how I watched Torchwood this year. I love the torrent sites!

I hate to say it, but I hated it. I thought Donna was terrible and the whole story was very *yawn*. I'm still totally grieving about Rose, too. I loved her.
I can't wait for the new season to start, though. I miss my Doctor!

Really? I thought Catherine Tate was really funny. There were a lot of random little moments that really brought back the old Doctor Who vibe (like during the Tom Baker years). I also liked the end, when Donna didn't want to go with him. It just really reinforced how alone the Doctor is, and no matter how many companions he has, he will always wind up alone. It was really poigniant.
