My flea& tick problem

I have a 5year old Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute. He is an inside dog because I live in Florida. The problem is when he goes outside to use the bathroom, he comes back in covered in fleas/ticks. The ticks seem to be worse, they actually drop off of him. I had a friend whose dog died from a tick infestation, so I am very worried!! I have him on Advantage, but he keeps getting more ticks on him when he goes outside, so it doesnt seem to be helping. Any suggestions please?!?!
