There's a child labor law maybe because they want children to enjoy theirselves being a kid because you know being young only comes once in our lifetime. People keep saying that "I wish I was a kid" eventhough they are big ones already that's because they didn't enjoyed their life as a kid. Sorry for the late response Dune, but better late than never, lol.:)

I guess because children actors are usually being taken care of when they're out shooting for a film or something. Probably, as long as the children are secured and in good hands and not harassed or harmed then it's okay for them to work as actors. It would also be funny to see adults acting as children, don't you think?! hehehe!!

I've heard that they have to get a certain permit first from our government somewhere. I forgot the name of the agency. This is what I only know. Nothing more hahaha.

i think that there are still restrictions on this. child labor laws are enforced so that children can have a good life and not be forced into labor. obviously you can't be forcing a kid to act too much or it would show up on the camera. plus i think that child actors are only allowed to work so many hours a day and have to be given time to attend school and such things. things that if the were being forced to weave baskets or something, would not be happening.

basically bro, child labor protects children from such abuses that in their incapacity may place them helpless. morevover, it protects the right of a child to be a child, not to work but to enjoy his childhood. there are however some provisions that in the event the work teaches and molds the child into a better person then it is allowed, such as household chores etc etc as long as the environment they are working under is safe i bet there are a lot of restrictions under these laws but tv & movie producers still play along with them for the mere fact that we need children on cam. just think about how unyouthful tv could get when all you see are grown ups

You made me smile with your last statement hellboi. Right after i posted this discussion several days ago, it actually crossed my mind and i thought of myself so dim-witted without thinking about that first...lol! It's really funny indeed to imagine a drama film with actors above 18 yrs old, with roles as children (or possibly babies)..*more laughs* Thanks for keeping this discussion going.

TV and movie child actors and child aactress do have a great income so maybe government make excuses for these and this is not a hard labor for them as long as they are studying at school.

Maybe because children are also needed in tv and movies. Working children should get a permit from the DOLE and I think they also have restrictions like the working hours. I have read in the newspapers that they should not work beyond 12 a.m.

There are very strict rules when it comes to children actors, and much of the time it takes a tweaking of the schedules to get it to work. Many times, a show or movie will take on twins as the "star" (Full House, Big Daddy...etc.) so that they can swap out one for the other when one runs out of hours they can work, or simply gets tired. They do seem to find ways around these rules when it comes to the entertainment industry, but they follow mostly the same laws.

Because the children who are doing acting in tv shows & in movies this childrens are normaly from good family baground & this children are doing acting along with their studies & his family members are giveing good support to their children for their studies & their family knows the importance of studies while in other situation thouse parents who force their children for doing work & not for studies normaly this children are from poor family & their family is not affort their educational expenses so they send them for work.in this kind of situation to increase the literecy government is adopting child labour laws & were as the children who are doing acting their family know the importance of education their family support for their better education so the government is not prohibit law against the children who are doing acting

Unlike other types of work, acting is supervised closely when children are involved. Studios would stand to pay heavy fines and possibly criminal charges if the child were negatively affected by a violation of child labor laws.
