Spinach Cheese Rice Ingredients 1 bunch spinach leaves washed, drained 1/2 cup grated cheese 1 1/2 cups basmati rice 5 green chillies 1" piece ginger 1 tbsp butter 1 onion slice into thin long strips salt to taste 1/2 tsp dalchini (cinnamon)- clove powder 1 cup cabbage thinly chopped juice of 1 lemon 1/4 cup milk Method Keep plenty of water to boil. When hot add salt, 8-10 drops lemon juice and rice. Cook till almost done. Drain in colander. Cool by spreading on a thali or plate. Keep aside. Put spinach, green chillies and ginger in a blender. Do not add water. The sustained water is enough for blending. Warm butter in kadai (pan), add the spice powder and onions. Fry till they are light brown. Add cabbage, lemon juice, salt and spiach paste. Fry for 5 minutes. Add the above fried masala to rice leaving behind 1 tbsp mixture. Add half cheese. Delicately blend the masala with rice till evenly mixed. Preferably with finger so grain does not break. Transfer to a casserole, spread the leftover paste on the rice. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and the milk. Bake for 15 minutes, covered with foil or cling film depending on the oven. Serve hot.

Do you ever make porcupine meatballs? You just add some uncooked instant rice to raw hamburger, garlic salt and pepper to taste and roll into balls. Place in a single layer in a skillet and cover with a mixture of tomato soup and water. Cover and cook on medium until done! They are delicious! My kids hate rice but they will eat these every time!

I have a recipe for rice which also includes cheese in it (cheese if my favorite!!). Here it is with the source: Ingredients for Baked Rice And Cheese No. 1 Recipe 3 cups cooked rice 1 cup of milk 2 tablespoons flour ½ pound cheese ½ teaspoon salt bread crumbs Instructions Blend the milk, flour and salt. Cook the mixture over medium heat. When it is bubbling softly, add the cheese and blend it as it melts, to make a sauce. Into a buttered baking dish put alternate layers of the cooked rice and the sauce. Cover with bread crumbs, and bake until the crumbs are brown. Note: you may add lightly steamed vegetables in the rice and cheese casserole's layers, as well Source: http://recipes.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Baked_Rice_And_Cheese_No._1_Recipe

There is a variety of different dishes for rice that one can make. But only a few have always been able to stand out for me. One of them that has always stood out to me is the one that I had attached below. It's very simple to make, but also very healthy at the same time. It can't get any better than this. Thanks for allowing me to share! "Broccoli Rice & Cheese Casserole." Ingredients are as follows: - 1/2 cup of chopped celery - 1 large package of frozen broccoli - 1/2 cup of chopped onions - 2 cups of cooked rice - 1 can of cream of mushroom soup - 1 can of cream of chicken soup - 1 package of velveeta cheese, cut in to cubes though Directions are as follows: - Pre-cook both the broccoli & the rice separately. - Then in a large saucepan, melt the butter & saute the onions, as well as the celery. - Then add the cream of chicken & mushroom soup, as well as the cheese. Then stir until it is melted. - Then fold in both the broccoli & rice. - Then pour in a large, greased casserole dish. And then heat for 30 minutes on 350 degrees F. - Then allow to cool & serve on a plate or in a bowl. & ENJOY! xx
