Any entrepreneurs out there?

This isn't a shameless plug (cause I'm sure almost no one here is in my area lol) but I'm writing about this because I'm just so excited. Since my husband will be deploying to Iraq soon, I decided to start my own computer repair business where I travel to people's homes to clean up slow computers and delete viruses, malware and such. I just designed and created my own website at www.1337mama.com and I'm pretty proud of it! :) The only reason I didn't look for work once we returned from Japan is because I knew he would be leaving soon and I wanted to be there for my girls, but I do miss that extra income! Besides from at-home transcription jobs, as anyone else out there put their experiences and training out there like this and were you successful? I'm great with computers but I don't necessarily enjoy fixing them but I'm tired of fighting my talent lol. I do have legit sys admin experience but I'm an aviation girl at heart and I just can't find an open aviation job to save my life! Well, where we are at the moment anyway. So I would love to hear your stories!

Well, if you still have some money left, you can start by spread your money into different areas. For example 10% goes to high risk investment, 25% goes to medium risk long term investment and 65% goes to your business. this way, you can generate more passive income. I hope this will help

That does help, and I'm happy to say my husband is our resident investor. I call him "Stock Boy" because he is awesome at investing. He made us $3000 over the past two months with our investments. He also manages our daughters' money accounts and they are doing quite well. We also own three rental homes in different states. Well, two. We just moved into the one we bought in November. While we aren't making money off the residents each month (they pay the mortgage and that's it), we will make a killing on the market when we go to sell in the future. He also invests a certain percentage of his military income through the TSP (www.tsp.gov/). All of the extra money is going towards emergencies, but mostly the girls' college fund. That was very sound advice - thank you!!

Most of the "at home" jos I have seen have not really been of much substance. Transcription jobs are getting fewer as insurance companies are beginning to refuse to cover alot of treatments, and HMO's swallow up the business that was once done by the one doctor office. As corporate medicine grows, these jobs will become few and far between.
