Ghosts are the great dividers. Half the world declares that they cannot possibly exist. The other half believes that, althought arguments and logic are against them, one's feelings and instincts are for them. The trouble is that ghosts do not work to a routine . Noboby knows when they are going to turn up and so they are difficult to investigate. But they still make the front pages from time to time, like the ghost that the guardian reported which drove a new vicar and his wife out of their rectory after a single night.
