How clean do you keep your house?

Is your house always clean and perfect or is it really messy? I have 3 kids and my house is only clean and perfect if I spend 2 or 3 days cleaning it before company comes over. But usually it is always a little messy and there is always something to do. I spend about 1-2 hours everyday picking up after my kids (and husband) and it always looks about the same.
I have always wanted to know if I was the only one with a little bit dirty house. I imagine everyone else in my neighborhood has a very clean house. So, how does your house look?

I always imagine everyone's house is cleaner than mine too. The fact of the matter is if you are living life, your house is going to get dirty. The only way to keep your house spotless when you have children is if you make them watch tv all day. I just can't do that! My children like to paint, draw, glue, cut, play games, etc. I also run a daycare so it seems like all I do is clean. My mother used to say keeping your house clean when you have children is like emptying out the ocean with a bucket. Don't feel too bad! We are all in the same boat and they won't be little forever.

There was a time when I was obsessed with keeping my house clean. I literally would get up before everyone and clean everything. Clean all day and stay up late to clean even more. One day, it just didn't make sense anymore, I spent all day cleaning, dusting, mopping vacuuming, etc and I sat down on a couch full of popcorn and put my feet on a sticky coffee table. SO, there went my sense of accomplish! I have 5 children ages 2 to 19, and they are all as messy as their father.

I have two kids and it is impossible to keep it clean. It is kind of cluttered so your not the only one.

We have 4 kids and I would say our house is clean 1 time a week, it is very tough to keep up on laundry, toys and dishes, plus me and my wife works. So it makes it that much tougher. So you are not alone

I try very hard to keep my house clean but that does not mean it will not get strung from one end to the other during the process of living and running in and out . I always keep the dishes done and the bathroom picked up during the week and clean like crazy on saturdays. I used to clean houses and let me tell you my house is spotless compared to a lot of homes so I take pride in the hard work I do here. I always clean the garbage can when I remove a full bag because all kinds of smelly germs are in there. I bleach all my trash cans. I do at least one load of laundry every day, even if it is a small load. That helps
