I drive an automatic car. I have driven a manual car but I am not real good at it and just prefer to have an automatic. You say in your post that you have a license for both types. Here we don't need to have a license for both types. We can drive either one under just a standard drivers license.

Here in the UK if you pass your test in a manual car you are entitled to drive both manual and automatics, but if you pass your test in a automatic, you cannot drive a manual, I think it is because a manual is harder to drive. I passed my test driving a manual car so I can drive both.
Thank you for your response. :)
Happy new year.

I passed my test in 1989 in a manual car, so I have a manual licence but I won't drive a manual. I always have automatics, they are far easier to drive and I could never get on with the clutch and I hate changing gears too. It's far easier in traffic jams, I could never go back to a manual car.

Never had that on a license but perhaps the UK and USA are different on that one. I've driven both over the years but I prefer an automatic. Now more then ever with bad ankles and bad back. Just makes it easier to drive with those when I don't have to worry about a clutch as well.
