Dead beat Mom's! Know of any?

We always hear about dead beat dad's, but what about dead beat mom's?
My cousin is a dead beat mom. She lost primary custody of her son after she hit his father and went to jail. It was pure white trash. She is supposed to pay child support. She finally paid her first check.....six months after the fact. And she only paid because she is trying to go back to court and get her son back. She does not deserve to have this child. She has anger issues and has turned out to be a horrible mom.
How many of you know of similar situations? Are you shocked by the breakdown of family? Of a mother acting so horribly?

Some people are suited to be a parent. Therefore we must take the childred from them because it is not right for the child to be left with someone that is not caring enough to take care of a child. Someone like your cousin should not be aloud to have a child.

yes I do. I hate to say it, but I think that there are more and more of them out there. I think that the courts are starting to see that as well. It used to be that if a divorce happend then the mom was always getting the kids. Like they are better there, but I have seen more and more that kids are going with their dads because of the way that they act. It is so sad. Sometimes it would be nice if you would be required to take a test of parenting before becoming a parent just so that if you screwed up it wouldn't be just an oops. I think that is what they think it is. Just an oops. They don't realize they are destroying a living breathing person. So sad.
