Hi! I'm giving this topic one more try then I'm giving up! LOL I've posted it before and got basically no responses. Okay, for those of you who write ebooks, what software do you use to put it together? If you attach any kind of art or cover art, what kind of software do you use to do that? I've been thinking of buying one of those ebook creation tool kits from Ebay and I wonder if it's any good. That's why I'd love some feedback from people who do this on a regular basis. Thanks a bunch!

Hi! Well, I don't use anything yet, that's why I would like feedback from experienced ebook makers. The thing is that I would like to have my own publishing company, but when I worked for one, I was never included in the details about how the books were actually formatted or how the cover art was added, etc. The program on Ebay is only like 89 cents, but still, it would be a waste of money if it doesn't actually work or produces ebooks that aren't professional looking. When you use Photoshop, can you import original images into it? An idea I had for cover art would be to take photos with my digital camera. Do you think that would work? Oh, and thanks a bunch for responding! This is the kind of information I was hoping for! :-)

Well I probably can't enlighten you all that much, but hopefully thi may keep the topic alive til someone who can sees it.
Theres a fantastic helpful member on here Surfbay who knows all about this stuff. They are in the process of teaching me at the minute.
I wouldnt reccommend buying anything to learn how to do it, not when there is such a vast wealth of info available for free both here at mylot, and spread all over the net.
I use word to write my ebook, and am going to use adobe to turn it into a pdf file, you get a free trial (I think its 3 conversions) and then if you like it, its like ten bucks a month or something. But dont quoote me on that ;) lol.
Anyhow, good luck mate, hope someone comes along soon that can REALLY help you :D :D :D

Hi, Megs! Thanks for your response and your help! If you'd be willing to pass along what you learn, I'd sure be grateful! What is Surfbay? Is it like Mylot?
