I remember this incidient - it will sty with me forever - As 31st Decemer is just around the corner, everybody is waiting, anticipating, making new resolutions, thinking of ways to enjoy..Every coin has 2 sides, why do I say that? ..Read on.. It was 30 Dec 2003, my grandfather was hospitalised since 1 month then, he was on a respirator - he had tried to take it out several times, but the nurses in th ICU were alert..It was as if all his systems were giving up & he knew it - I could see it in his eyes when I had gone to meet him - medicines were of no use - there comes a phase when your mind wants to do a lot but your body gives up; I know now how old people feel - they want to get well, but they cant.. The doctor gave discharge to my granddpa the next day 31 Dec 2003, my grandpa was brought back home withi the respirator, the same evening he had a heart attack - he passed away - We got the sad news - were on the road at 11.55pm going to see him for th last time..everybody on the road was happy - fire crakers everywhere - but the other side of the coin - we were the only ones in tears..Only ones? Next day in the newspapers I read that there were many youngsters who passed away due to accidents - rash driving/drinking..My message is to just be careful...think of the coin -
