I definitely wont be keeping both. If ever I realize that the 3rd party is the one I really want and need, I would leave the current and tell him honestly. Or if I feel that the current is worth being with, Id stay. I think there is no point in keeping both because one way or another someone will get hurt. Its better to be honest so try to make things right this time.

That depends on the level of your relationship with the current, if you have good terms naturally you will not need the third party.
