college majors!

I'm a sophomore in college, and I just recently changed my major. I started school as undeclared, then my second semester I changed to Corrections and Juvenile Justice. Now going into my fourth semester I've decided to change majors one more time to Paralegal Studies. I'm just wondering if anyone else changed their major while going through college? If so to what?

When I was in college I did change my majors but only once did I do that. It can be difficult to decide which career choice you want as there are several that a person can like or dislike. I changed from accounting major to business administration after getting my aasociates degree in accounting. If I could do things over, I probably would have switched again over to something in computers. I hope that you like Paralegal Studies. Good luck.

My plan from the beginning was to be a Juvenile Probation Officer. But after getting deep into my Corrections courses, I realized that most counties only have one Probation officer. After researching that some, I noticed that most people get their job, and stick with it until retirement. So.. the job opps were low. Now I'm taking the Paralegal route with the intent to still work in the probation office, so I'll still be in the same enviroment. Where did you go to school?

I changed my major twice. I started out in biology because that is what I loved in High School. I then changed to sociology as my interest in criminology and deviant behavior took off. I then decided at the end of my sophomore year that I was taking so many classes anyway, to double major in Sociology and Biological Basis of Behavior. My only regret was that after sophomore year, I stopped taking English Lit. classes. My only advice is to not ignore other interests. I went to college in Philadelphia, so my junior and senior year I was able to take Photography with Becky Young, a nationally known photographer. I also took graduate courses in German, a language I love (though it is fading from non-use !). This is the time in your life to pursue things that you like, as well as things you might need for a future career. Don't let the liberal arts or language or engineering classes get ignored if you have a true interest.

It's a bit different here in Australia - also I did my degree years ago. I started out thinking I wold major in Botany. I quickly changed to Genetics, but discovered it wasn't for me. I ended up majorig in Chemistry with Microbiology as my sub-major.

It's tough. You never know what you're going to end up doing. You switched majors, but don't be surprised if you switch again. You may even end up in a totally different career later on. You do however have youth on your side. Don't (if you're not already) get frustrated, this is the time for you to figure it out. Be positive, it will come to you (if not already). I started out in Sciences in University, whet to college to study fitness, tried taking computer courses, now in insurance. Good luck to you!
