Has Anybody Out There Written a Book?

I have been considering writing a book about my Raw Food vegan lifestyle with recipes etc. I have done a little research and have found that there are other books out there on this subject but not many. This is something completely new to me. The material I can come up with no problem. I have been writing down all my original recipes in a blog. I basically know what I want to include and the format of my book and I have a friend who is a photographer taking pictures for me. My question is what next? Do I make a copy and submit it to publishers? Do I publish it myself? How much does it cost to publish a book. How do I go about marketing? Would an e-book generate profit? Would love some feedback or URLs with info. : )
