i started my guitar lessons way back in highschool, however, i was not so into it at that time. So despite having a guitar and some collection of songbooks, i left it all behind. Now, i feel like I'm starting to like it again. It was like almost 10 years since I last practiced. Wouldn't it be too late to learn again playing the guitar? Help.

Yes, you should definitaly try to learn again, and it is not too late. Even though it has been 10 years, you will probably remember some of your lessons after you start practicing. I want to learn how to shred also, but i will do it in my spare time in a few years.

And one more thing, it's difficult at first but gets easier after you develop your Left - Right hand coordination and Muscle memory. Trust Me.

The best way is to start playing guitar overnight. If you want are a beginner then I would prefer an electric guitar rather than acoustic because the strings are softer. This post is three years ago so you may have started playing but ok. And the best way to learn is using instructional DVD. Not all but some. I suggest you to try the best lesson. That is: 1. Metal Method Stage 1 - 6 [For Rock, Blues and Metal] 2. L & M guitar (Learn and Master guitar) [Covers all Genre] And the best site is: www.justinguitar.com and its absolutely free. Do exercises daily as little as 15 minutes a day. You'll be shredding like Buckethead or Malmsteem in no time. Good Luck...
