The other day as I was watching T.v. a television commercial came on for a certain deoderant company the slogan ran something like "strong enough for a man, made for a woman" or something to that extent. Anyways, it got me thinking about how society views men. It's sad really. When did we start treating woman like Men and Men like screw ups? you know what i'm talking about im sure. It seems that every t.v. sitcom has some doofus of a man, that can't find his own butt to wipe. How are we supposed to raise good, strong, reliable, responsible men if thier only example is Homer Simpson? I always hear woman saying "I want a man that will support me, that loves me and cherishes me. I want a man with a good job, that i won't have to work if i don't want to.." well women, there aren't that many of those kinds of men left, and its our own fault. We teach our little boys that thier fathers are inadequate in every way, and that women are superior adn that thier is no honor in being a man. when a man opens a door for us.. we dont say thankyou, we say, I can get my own door, when a man stands to honor us, we tell them to sit down, when he suggest we stay home so that we can be with the children, we say, No, you stay home.. i need a life outside of this house... (not that i believe everyone should be a stay at home mom.. that's not the point i'm trying to make..)
I'm not saying that woman should revert to how it was before the womans movement by any means.. nor do i believe that we need to be dependent upon the men in our lives.. but that if we truly want a knight to come to our aid.. we have to ALLOW him to rescue us.. if you are following me here..

I understand what you are saying, and I agree.
Where have the gentlemen gone? It isn't "old hat" to be a knight in shining armour: it is what the ladies of this world want (and need).
I largely blame the women's lib movement for most of the drift, aided by the media and the entertainment industry.
I have my knight, but there are not many around for the younger generation.
Good discussion

Yes, I am blessed in that I too found my knight, but I do worry about some of my single friends, and if they can find one. Thanks for the response.
