What are the best beaches that you know of? I have visited quite a few beaches mainly in Australia & a few in S.E.Asia. I am trying to build up a list of the best ones (you set your own criteria for "best") with the objective of trying to visit as many as possible! If a visit is not possible, then at least I can share the info of what you guys rate as BEST with others. So far the ones I rate as Best Beaches I have been to are: Australia: Bells Beach, Bondi Beach, Gold Coast, Noosa & Port Douglas. Philippines: Boracay & Palawan. Thailand: Phuket. What are your Best Beaches?

If you'd been to Phuket, I wonder if you had taken a boat to the nearby Phi Phi Island. That's one of my best choice for beaches I'd visited. The sand is as fine and white as one can imagine and the seawater is crystal clear. The best thing is the shallowness (below waist level) of the seawater which can stretch more than 300m far. Another beach is in Kuching, Sarawak, of East Malaysia. It's called Damai Beach. The beach is secluded except for the Holiday Inn hotel. It's extremely peaceful and deserted, with views of mountains. I remembered my girlfriends and I were the only visitors at the beach for 3 days stretch during the weekdays.

Thanks! I will be adding your recommendations to my list of Best Beaches. I will certainly visit Phi Phi. It sounds really great! Thailand has nice beaches but not all meets my best beaches list. I have to take another visit to Hua Hin, Jomtien, Koh Chang, Samui etc. The list goes on. Your Malaysian nominations sound good! I have Langkawi first on my list to visit but Sarawak may take a little longer as it is a little out of the way... Thanks again for you help!
