The age-old patriarchical structures have been looking down upon the woman as merely an intrument ot perform certain roles or functions within the four walls. The oppressive patriarchy finds it hard to think tat women are the potential human beings who have got their own identity, rights and space in the society. For ages women are made to think that they are powerless and dependant on others for whole life. Therefore, in the process the women have lost their identity as a potential and powerful human being. They think that they are the cursed ones in the world. Their very birth as female is curstant oppressive systmes in which they live and survive. Hence, society has tremendous responsibility in empowering women and 3eliminating discriminations against them.
