How to they become top usres?

Yesterday it was shocking for me to check one of the top users profile who had only started 1 discussion with 3 responces. Today both of the top users have 0 discussions?
How do they get upto top?

May be it's just start of the day. What i mean, in the system, there will always be a cut-off time for the script to look for the top user of the day. Say, co-incidently, the time had just passed the cut-off time, (it's count as the new day) and that particular user just posted the first discussion, then the mylot script will treat him as the top user of that day. Keep in mind that there are so many time zones around the world, but we don't which time zone mylot is referring too. So it could be any time. But so far i observed that my earning will be updated at 10pm ~ 11pm (+8 time zone).
Just my guess only. Besides, it could be the bug in mylot script as well. But anyway, it doesn't and shouldn't have anything to do with our activity in mylot. :)

Not it isn't like this if it was start of the day it should be same for every one, And its not with all top users i have seen top users of others days its not same like this with otehrs..
I think myLot has deleted their topics because they were so much stupid like 1 word yes or no discussions thats what made them goto top.

I am just curious. How long did the guy remain as top user? If it's just a brief moment, then my hypothesis might be true. But you did give a good one as well. You are right, it could be that guy still maintain his top score on that day. But mylot deleted all his discussion response, but did not reset his score number on that day. So, again, this might due to bug in the script right?

Its not a bug it happends almost everyday, yesterdays top user had only 1 discussion in his profile.
Its because of the stupid responces and discussions they post which makes them at the top and later when myLots gets to know they delete their discussions

ya i also shocked about it.
i responce at least 50-70 responces daily and start atleast 2-3 discussion but i never in list of top users so i am also not understanding the logic behind top user. :(

I think only the officials can answer this question. Sometimes, one cannot avoid getting embarrasing estimates in a situation where the competitors are so large. The machine could probably be making error due to large volume of transport on it. Please bear with the officials for now. the would adjust as times goes on.

there may be some problem with the alogrithm of mylot i can' say anything but they maybe a top users from a long time and that might have effected their top user rank.
