People are more curious to do what is prohibited or said not to be done

Right from childhood until they become aged, always try to do what others say not to do it. They just want to know why others say so. eg.,if they are said not to put hand in an ant-hill, they are curious to try putting their hand. In 1986, it so happened that due to solar eclipse all scientists suggested not to come out of the house and see the eclipse which is very dangerous and all chances of loosing eye-sight. But people were curious to see what will happen and almost all saw with great curiosity.

LOL, this is SO true! BTW during that eclipse, I wore my fathers old welding hat with the dark lens down. It worked great! I even took one of those lens and put it over my camera and taped it! The whole reason I went out was because they said not to, but I wasn't dumb enough to take a chance on my eye sight. For me, I do things I'm told not to, because I am stubborn. I can't stand someone thinking they can tell me what to do. When they say "don't do this", I'm hearing orders. So I do it. It's as if I can't even control myself. Another reason is as you said, because I want to see why I shouldn't do it. What's wrong with it? Maybe it's wrong for them, because they are wimpy. Yep, it's hard being me at times, LOL

Yes it's a human nature but some people have it more than others.. I tend to be one of those "some" too :)) I think the problem is people always tell us not to do things without giving enough explanations and justifications, in many times they are just over protecting and expect that you are stupid and THAT what brings up the bad in me lol For the eclipse example, it was stupid to tell people not to get out in the streets and stay indoors, what's wrong in getting out? it's the same sun that we walk under each day, looking directly at the eclipse is what's dangerous, I improvised a protection too with two black CDs one over the other, they worked like a real dark sunglasses and I watched the whole thing :)

hey bro, welll you are absolutely right. curiosity is something that makes you to do what you are not supposed to do.that is Y something unprecedented happens.out of curiosity only, searches are made and then only new inventions take place.new discoveries came only because of curiosity of one or the other.sometimes it may be difficult to handle and might not be good for human being as u told in ur example.but still whatever has to happen will happen,no matter you wanna stop it or not.Everything has its good and bad effects on humans.human nature is like that only....as we are curious at this point of time..how mylot works..how to earn on internet..:)hope m clear to u.

i dont call it curiousity.. its in a child's nature to learn.. he is taught so much that he accepted everything as religion but when in school and he learns science where everything is proved by example, he tries to experiment with what elders say because elders are most of the times strict and simply assert what is not to be done without explaining in detail why something should not be done.

I think the joy of thrills and curosity takes over. After all if you walk a straight road there is no real pleasure in it. I think this is humans have evolved. The curiosity has made us explored new things and so we are have evolved as humans.

well such a nice topic for discussion . if a doctor says pls do not think of monkey while taking my medicines. 100% the patient will think of monkey while taking medicines. it is not just to test the sayings of the doctor . this is happening due to human psycology. if u tell ur kid do not touch the fire . it will burnt u , he will wantedly touch and get the burn. it does not mean people are fool or disobedient. it is due to misunderstanding the concepts. no body wants to hear the advice from others. will u accpt if i advice or some other advice. U may or may not . but mostly may not because , i am not close to u or known to u or seen u . the psycology of a person plays a role in this aspect. Admiting a claim or rule or saying is must for every one. they should think a lot in that claim and find out why they said so . wht will happen or wht happended those who violated like that before taking decisions. it is not happening ., they find themselves as an example and ending their life in this topic. well lack of proper knowledge is the main reason for this happening and i am sure this can be cured by way of proper communication and knowledge. thaks

there are things that need to obey like what parents telling us, but because of being kids and of curiousity we do,what they don't want us to do,,, curiousity leads us into wrong way or the way to discoveries..

i think a little fear makes something more exciting to do..don't you think. but i totally agree with what you said. i don't know why..but curiosity usually gives us a pusha to do what is prohibited. maybe it's because everyone has a sense of thirst for knowledge. it's like a need that they really have to know. you just can't help it..then you find yourself doing it in the end no matter how hard you try to stop yourself.

Yes, I have a four year old and even when I tell him not to do something because it will hurt him he seems to want to try doing it anyway, it's just human nature I suppose.

I think Curiousity will always get the Best of most people. There will always be those wanting to challenge and see what happens if they do something that is not really what others would do just so they can tell stories of Survival and such to make themselves feel better.

I agree with you you are right this is human tendency what is said not to do you do that but that can be very harmfull once my parent told me not to go to disco they took promise but i go didnt listen but it happen with me that one guy follow me harrasing me alot i cried it and fromt hat i started listening to my parents so it is good to hear the elder person.
