Here in New Zealand research is beginning to see if the seasonal shrinking of the possum's prostate can be of help to men with prostate problems. Apparently the possum and the human male have identical prostates, and the researchers idea is that if the possum's prostate can be studied, it may help provide a way for men's problems with prostates as they grow older to be alleviated. It sounds a bit weird, but it could help a huge number of men who suffer from this problem from their fifties and sixties onwards.
