Can I really teach my cat to talk?

I have seen some videos on the net with cats talking, saying hello and I love you and also singing. Is this for real or have I been scammed?

Hi there...cats who sound like they are speaking naturally possess these attributes already and then their owners encouraged the behaviour by rewarding them with either food treats or something that cat desires to repeat the behaviour. This is the primary way to get cats to learn how to learn behaviours in general which is called operant conditioning. Talking cats video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XhgVIbO83o4

I believe it is for real. I have seen it too. As far as how to train them, I don't have a clue. I think it depends on the cat, if it is vocal or not. I have two cats. One never makes a peep. The other is always chirping or gurgling sounds. If I start to talk to her, she actually speaks back in her language. I don't understand what she says, but she does go back and forth with me in conversation. It is very cool.

I don't think that they can letterally speak, but they have their own language, so they can communicate clearly many things. Actually, I have to say that it seems that sometimes they say "mom" and a sound between "hallo" and ""ciao"....

Cat cannot talk. The cats vocal apparatus differ from our own and is not designed with speech in mind. However cats nned to communicate, both with other cats and with owners. Cat speak to each other by body language and also by facial expression.

A cute cat - A very cute cat
Once my mom had a cat that could say "mom" and she thought it was my brother and one night she heard it and told my brother to go back to sleep but then she noticed that he was already sleeping and found out that it was cat talking:D I think it's very hard to teach them to talk but it should be possible with a lot of work
