should i and should i not expect my kids to care for me in old age.

Dont expect ur kids to take care of u, u make ur own arrangements.

Ya, I agree with that. do not expect them totake care of us . Make the necessary plans now itself. If they take care of us, it is well and good and our good luck, but otherwise, be prepared for the worst.

yes i do think the same, but is it not our reponsibilty to reach them human values by setting out examples from our livs thru respecting elders.if we allow ourselfes to be seperated from the youngsters then we might soon lose our cultural heritage as it is joint families are very scarce now.

We will bring up our children with good cultures and good values of life, with love, care, respect. But when our son gets a wife and our daughter gets a husband, it all depends on the neww people who enter our family. It is not that our children do not love us or donot want to take care of us, it is the circumstances or the situations they are drawn into. I hope you get my point. We can only pray and leave the rest to God.

When all our children are old enough to live by themselves its up to them if they look for us when we grow old, i hope so,here in my country the Phillippines there is a strong family ties families were living together with their parents and granchildren and they were happy, Once were finished with our obligations to our children, they can decide for themselves, the situation here in our country is different, people here are very loving specially for their parents and grandparents. I dont know about other places or country I hope they're like us, modesty aside, with due respect to old people. How about you what are the tradition in your country regarding taking care of your parents when they grow old? You must prepare yourself when youre old not only financially but also emotionally wether to ask your children to look for your when you,re old, Be prepared.

the same was evident in india also until western influance came in. first we were ruled by britishers then again when we want to really grow now again all modernisation and free trade ahs brought in large mnc'c which change our whole culture , so kids think tht they should be free to lead their own lives.

I think it depends on your child.You have to decide on it and make necessary arrangements.

if u will not trust ur kids then ,who else will...
u should trust ur children!
but always b ready for all circumtances, any thing can happen...
