Why do people buy electronic products made in Japan?

Made in Japan - Why are people after electronic products made in Japan?

I was just curious to find out why people are after products made in Japan. Are products made in Japan free from defects? They are definitely more expensive than products made in other countries.

I think Japan really did a good job in the last few years in every area.And their commodities are in good quality.So we buy Japan goods not only electronic products but also other things like cars.
