Do being afraid of identity theft keep you from making online purchases?

Anyone who would want to steal my credit must be desperate. I have no fears.

I hear you that's exactly how I feel. Trying to use my social security number to get credit is a joke.

Great question. I guess I think it always happens to the other guy, but I bought online many times. No problem to date. I think I have a pretty secure network with anti-virus, and fireall protection.

I do a lot of online shopping and banking, and have no real concerns about security or identity theft. I always check the site security before purchasing, especially if buying or downloading software or an e-book from a small site. And I am always aware of my credit card postings since I do my banking online- if suspicious things start to pop up, I would know about it right away. It's also a good idea to keep up with your credit reports. You can get 3 free reports every year, and it's a good idea to make it a habit to do this. That way you can see exactly what is going on.
